Safe and Sound

I arrived back in Haiti safe and sound yesterday (July 1st)! Thank you all for your prayers for that!

Most of May and all of June were spent at home— 7 weeks total. I visited with family, a few close friends, spent lots of time in the kitchen, watched my little siblings, and the Lord was so good to bless me with an ABUNDANCE of work from sweet friends and several donations. My trip is now fully funded!! Yay!!

Meanwhile in Haiti, a new intern arrived. Planning for a summer program at the school has begun. Kids are finishing end-of-school-year exams. The new married couple’s baby boy was born healthy. Violent protests have once again sprung up in full force.

Things to Pray for

  • The widespread protesting and road barricades are creating problems for students graduating high school. Not only is the violence creating a lot of added stress to the already difficult state exam, the school will actually shut down. Students have no opportunity to retake unfinished exams. A high school diploma is vital for those who desire higher education or good jobs.
  • Mama’s recovery and continued health of baby Josh.
  • The safe return of our beloved missions director next week. She had to make a trip home during the protesting a few weeks ago to take care of some stateside ministry business.
  • A good start for our summer Bible and feeding program in the Boyer school house. Pray for the opening of many local kids hearts to the gospel.
  • A breakthrough in the spiritual darkness hanging over Haiti. Pray God would touch Haiti and by His power we would see a change in the government, through the churches, and in the people as a whole.

Thank you all for your generous contributions, work, and prayers on my behalf and the ministries behalf. I am so grateful for all of you.

Hi! I’m Rachel. Through a series of God orchestrated events I ended up in Haiti, in 2017.  Through years of serving with a ministry there I came to love the country and its people. I met Nelson and we got married in 2020. It was the best decision of my life!
